As India Clinical Advisor, Avijit advises on all clinical activities of Equalize Health in India – from engaging with clinical stakeholders to gather insights for product development, to driving clinical evaluation of the products developed.
Avijit has a decade of experience in impact driven medical innovation. As co-founder of Windmill Health he invented NeoBreathe – a patented easy-to-use newborn resuscitation device that has helped thousands of babies breathe across ten countries. He raised over a million dollars for the product which also won the National Technology Award from the President of India in 2017.
By education, he is a medical doctor with specialization in pulmonary medicine. He is also an alumnus fellow of the Stanford India Biodesign program (now known as School of International Biodesign) where he continues to mentor Innovation fellows.
Avijit is originally from Ghaziabad, UP, India. He is a staunch believer in the power of simple innovations to transform lives and that’s his favourite part of working with the Equalize Health team.
When not working, Avijit likes to read non-fiction, write poetry and play the flute and Ukulele.
