Tele-mentoring

Democratizing expert medical knowledge.

Learn more

Too many expecting mothers and newborns are still referred to distant facilities when they could be treated locally, contributing to unnecessary morbidity or mortality. We use the Project ECHO tele-mentoring framework to ensure health workers increase their knowledge and confidence to treat patients closer to home.

How tele-mentoring equalizes health outcomes?
  • Locally-led. Expert medical knowledge is imparted by and to nurses, midwives, physicians, and biomedical engineers practicing in local communities, improving their knowledge, attitude, and practice.

  • Accessible. Our virtual clinics are easy to access and available to everyone in even the most rural and isolated areas.

  • Responsive. We create new programs in response to what healthcare workers and partners need, providing the most up-to-date specialty care information and technical support.

  • Effective. Healthcare workers become equipped to deliver specialized care to women and newborns in their local facilities who they otherwise would have referred out.

  • Supportive. We foster a strong peer-to-peer community of healthcare professionals working in low-resource areas.

  • Impactful. Using case-based learning and an “all teach all learn” model, both frontline healthcare workers and expert mentors are enriched.
