Jimmy (Jean Jose) Nzau is a physician and a global health practitioner with more than fifteen years’ experience in Global North and South both in humanitarian and development settings. Dr Jimmy is the Project Director of a large initiative in Reproductive Maternal Newborn and Child health, supporting health systems, community based and civil society organizations in more than 13 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, and Asia.
Over the past Five years, Dr Jimmy successfully led a team that was able to challenge existing social structures and systems to ensure that reproductive rights of women, girls, and marginalized communities are fulfilled in some of the most challenging places such as eastern of DRCongo, Northern of Nigeria, Northern of Syria, South Sudan, Chad, and Uganda.
Dr Jimmy strongly believes and actively supports people’s rights to determine what is better for themselves and their communities by empowering them and embarking them in initiatives that promote co-creation and full participation for equity and lasting change. Outside of work, Jimmy enjoys reading as well as watching soccer and movies with his family.
